Jamie Pazmiño

Quito, Ecuador.1995

Contemporary artist and researcher. Jamie reimagines the conception of time-space and its materialization using multitemporality as a strategy to challenge hegemonic Western time.  Acts of patience, contemplation, and the generation of living environments with non-human beings and times, are ways in which she identifies and creates temporal dimensions that do not fit the prevailing linear narrative. Her practice is energised by - but not limited to - installation, performance, photography, video art and sculpture.

Jamie is currently studying the MA Fine Art program at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London (2023-2025). She holds a BA in Visual Arts from the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador (2020).

Her work has been exhibited across Ecuador, the UK, Greece and Italy. She has been selected for the II Edition of the Artist residence program and V Edition of the Brazil Emerging Art Prize exhibition at the Contemporary Art Center of Quito (2022), the Mattering Life: Scientist in Residence Programme at Central Saint Martins (2024), Shared campus: Extractive Realities and Ecological Resonances in Athens (2024), and Vlatka Horvat: By The Means At Hand, Croatian Pavilion at 60th International Art Exhibition La Biennale di Venezia, Venice (2024)
